about Black Ram whisky.
Black Ram is a masterfully crafted blend that brings together the strength of golden barley and the purity of clear mountain water. It features a carefully selected master-blend of over 30 original imported distillates, including finely aged malt whiskies. The result is a whisky with a powerful character, a beautifully balanced palate, and a captivating story.
To ensure its rich and fully rounded flavor profile, the grain and malt distillates in Black Ram are matured for a minimum of 3 years in specially selected oak casks (including casks previously used for bourbon).
The effect of peat determines the "peatiness" or smokiness of the spirit, which is measured in the whisky industry using phenol parts per million (PPM - Phenol Parts per Million).
- Black Ram Original bridges the gap between classic (unpeated) and lightly peated whisky, offering just a subtle, delicate hint of smoke.
- For context, traditional "unpeated" whiskies have low levels of 1–3 PPM, while lightly peated whiskies typically sit below 15 PPM.
Our grain distillate is produced using a highly advanced three-column continuous-distillation unit. This specialized system consists of:
- A depletion column
- An epuration column (for hydro-selection)
- A two-part rectification column (featuring boiling and reduction chambers)
Equipped with a reflux tower, precise coolers, and condensers, this process yields an exceptionally clean grain distillate with an alcoholic strength of up to 95% vol.
We use a high-quality selection of premium grains, primarily consisting of wheat, barley, and maize. Upon arrival at our facility, the grains undergo a strict cleaning process to separate any foreign materials and impurities before being transferred to our storage silos.
During the continuous fermentation process, the mash is constantly agitated while yeast transforms the fermentable sugars into ethanol, releasing heat and carbon dioxide. Temperature and pH levels are strictly monitored to optimize yield. Fermentation concludes when the sugar content drops and the alcohol level reaches about 8–8.5% ABV, at which point the mash is sent to the distillation column.
To suit any gathering or occasion, Black Ram is available in a variety of glass bottle sizes: from the compact 200 ml and medium 500 ml, to the standard 700 ml and 1 liter options.
The brand currently offers four distinctive flavor profiles, tailored for any occasion:
- Black Ram Original (40% ABV): A classic character featuring a light malt profile, balanced notes of caramel, and a fine hint of smoke.
- Black Ram Bourbon Finish (40% ABV): A rich and captivating blend finished in select American oak barrels (previously containing bourbon), yielding a distinctive vanilla sweetness.
- Black Ram Honey (35% ABV): A smooth and light spirit drink that pairs high-quality grain distillate with a tempting, honey aroma and soft vanilla notes.
- Black Ram Apple (35% ABV): An innovative and bold spirit drink made from special grain distillates, offering the crisp taste of green apples, sweet toffee, and velvety caramel.
Black Ram Original and Bourbon Finish: These expressions unlock their full potential when served neat, with a few drops of water, or over a large cube of ice.
Black Ram Honey and Apple: Due to their lighter alcohol volume (35% ABV) and refreshing profiles, they are perfect for warm spring and summer nights. We recommend serving them well-chilled (straight from the freezer) or as the star ingredient in refreshing, creative cocktails.
